INVITATION JCI Staines Memorial – London – June 18, 2015

42 years ago, on June 18 1972, a plane crashed near London, known as the Staines air disaster. A tragic accident where also 9 JCI friends died, coming back from the European Conference in Edinburgh.

As every year, the JCI Staines Foundation likes to be present with a delegation, to honour our bond with the victims and their families. We welcome all members of JCI Belgium, JCI Senate Belgium, JCI SenSe, JCI London, together with the entire international JCI community.

Program

10.00am              Prayers and dedications in the Trident ‘Papa India’ Memorial Garden in the Moormead Sports Ground off of Waters Drive, Staines

11.00am              Memorial Service at St Mary’s Church, Church Street, Staines

12.30pm              Lunch in “The Bells” traditional pub

02.00pm              Visit to be determined

05.00pm              Trip back home

Transport

We will ask you to make your own transport reservation.

–        Eurostar to St. Pancreas / train from Waterloo to Staines

–        Flight : Brussels 7.30am to Heathrow (very close to Staines), flight back 8pm (estimated price € 125).

Malheureusement nous sommes informés du décès de François Francis, sénateur 32819. François a été président de JCI Dinant en 1980-1981. Né le 12 décembre 1947, il est décédé le 5 mai 2015. Sa crémation a eu lieu le 11 mai dernier.
Nous passons nos condoleances à sa famille et à JCI Dinant.

We are sad to inform you a friend of many senators has suddenly passed away. Dirk Lahaye was Past-President 1995-1996 of JCI Dendermonde and a welcome guest in and outside his chapter.

Dear JCI member,

As you may know by now, following a formal process JCI has announced my new role as Secretary General of this great organization. It is with immense humility and enthusiasm that I accept this role and its responsibilities. 

But today is not about my new position at JCI World Headquarters, it is a day to celebrate the work of active citizens around the world. Today we acknowledge that our work is only beginning. 

During the 100th Anniversary of the JCI Movement, I believe that now more than ever, in a world plagued with terrorism, inequality, greed and injustice, the passion and drive to carry out our founder’s vision of global everlasting peace is crucial. In spite of so many global challenges, I know that the world is full of active citizens; I know that JCI members see the challenges our world faces as opportunities for positive change. These challenges affect everyone near and far and it is the threat of those challenges and our common humanity that each of us share.

The world awaits our action. It yearns for a new kind of citizen — one that is active, empowered and takes ownership of the future. Along with an incredible team, JCI World Headquarters and I commit to supporting our members in ways that are forward thinking and long lasting. Our mission is to support the development of these citizens 

As JCI Secretary General, I commit to carrying out the 2014-2018 JCI Strategic Plan and working with stakeholders throughout the organization to continue to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. I commit to creating an environment where young active citizens are empowered to unite all sectors within their community to face today’s challenges, develop solutions and create sustainable impact around the world. 

I am looking forward to continuing my journey serving this organization and hundreds of thousands of active citizens around the world in my new position as JCI Secretary General. I hope to meet you at an upcoming JCI Area Conference near you in the next few weeks

Dear Senator! 

We are delighted to make everything possible again and to invite you to the next best thing after EC 2006 – the JCI Nordic Inspiration Conference “Beyond Borders”. The event will be held in Tallinn from 20th to 23rd of August.

This conference aims to introduce new business ideas, technologies and subcultures that shape the future. During the conference you’ll hear many interesting stories from successful organizations (e.g. Philips Design, BMW and Harley Davidson) and bold people (e.g. Dan Pantaleo, Soulaima Gourani and Mattias Lepp). During this conference we will celebrate JCI’s 100th birthday and JCI Estonia Senate’s 20th birthday.

De commissarissen voor de rekeningen hebben de kans nog niet gekregen de afrekening van 2014 na te kijken, we presenteren ze op de AV van 18/04 maar de stemming zal pas in Aalst gebeuren.

Les commissaires aux comptes n’ont pas encore eu l’occasio de verifier les comptes de 2014, nous allons les présenter au GA le 18/04 mais voter uniquement pendant le GA à Alost.
